Quick answers

Common questions.

DexaFit combines clinical-grade testing with data-powered reporting built on over a decade of real-world measurements across 4 continents. Most providers give you a number. We give you a number, what it means, what's driving it, and clear direction on what to do about it.

Yes. A DEXA scan delivers extremely low-level X-ray radiation — far less than a chest X-ray and roughly equivalent to a few hours of ambient radiation. The technology has been used in hospitals and research institutions for decades and is safe for the vast majority of adults.

The DEXA Body Composition Scan itself takes about 8 minutes. VO2 Max is approximately 20 minutes. RMR is 15 minutes of quiet breathing. Most clients doing a full panel (all three) are in and out in under 60 minutes, including check-in and review.

The DEXA Body Composition Scan is the most important test for GLP-1 users. It reveals whether the weight you're losing is fat, muscle, or both — something the scale cannot tell you. Roughly 1 in 3 pounds lost on GLP-1 therapy is lean mass. The DEXA tells you whether you're in that group. Combining with RMR gives you a complete metabolic picture.

Absolutely — and we encourage it. DexaFit reports use the same technology and terminology recognized by physicians worldwide. Many clients share their reports with primary care doctors, endocrinologists, sports medicine physicians, and dietitians. The data speaks the language of clinical practice.

Most clients test every 3–6 months to track progress. The real value of DexaFit is in the repeat measurement — seeing how your body changes over time as you adjust your training, nutrition, or protocol. A single test gives you a baseline. The DexaFit Feedback Loop gives you accountability.

VO2 Max measures cardiovascular capacity — how efficiently your body uses oxygen during exertion. It's the strongest predictor of long-term survival in clinical research (Mandsager et al., JAMA 2018). RMR measures how many calories your body burns at rest. They test different systems and are both useful in the same visit.
